Birthplace of Wolfgang Pauli in Vienna, Austria. Wolfgang Pauli (1900-1958) was an Austrian-Swiss physicist who worked on quantum mechanics. He attended the Doeblinger Gymnasium, Vienna then in 1918 went to the University of Munich where he received his doctoral diploma in theoretical physics. Pauli described the exclusion principle now named after him, in 1924. This states that each electron in an atom has a unique set of quantum numbers or quantum state. | |
