Group of African elephants (Loxodonta africana) drinking on the shore. This is the largest living terrestrial animal, with bulls reaching an average shoulder height of approximately 3.2 metres. They are a social mammal, travelling in herds composed of cows and their offspring while adult bulls typically live alone or in small male groups.
