Setting Sun descending into a fog bank looking due west on 20 March 2023, the evening of the vernal equinox. The fog dims and reddens the Sun, illustrating atmospheric absorption, and refraction as the solar disk is quite flattened. A couple of sunspots are just visible. The colour gradient is natural and comes from the blend of fog below and clearer twilight sky above.
