A very distinctive moth, the swallow prominent moth (Pheosia tremula) is a member of the Notodontidae family. The flight period is usually April through to July, occasionally with two broods in the south of the UK, This species occurs across all of the Palearctic ecozone. The larvae feed on mainly poplar, aspen, willow and birch, the moth overwinters as a pupa. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in April. | |
