SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) solar plant. This plant powers an independent laboratory in Allan, Jordan, that was inaugurated in May 2017. It is the only synchrotron facility in the Middle East, and the first in the world to be powered by renewable energy. It carries out research across a number of disciplines, including medicine, physics, biology, archaeology and agriculture. | |
