Mouth wart. Papilloma (wart) on the oral mucous surfaces in the mouth of a 46-year-old man. This is a growth caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). There are over thirty types of HPV. Some warts spontaneously disappear, while others may need to be surgically removed. The warts are round and have an irregular surface, reminiscent of a cauliflower or sea anemone, and usually grow in clusters. | |
