Monitoring of stomach dyspepsia. False-colour computer enhanced gamma scan of the stomach of a patient with dyspepsia (indigestion) during tests to study its rate of emptying. Here,at 10 minutes after swallowing a radioactive product, the stomach (coloured yellow) has received a radioactive solution, most of which is concentrated in red areas. The stomach entrance (round red area) contains most of the swallowed solution. This is the first in a series of images (see: M140/121 and M140/122),which show that the emptying of this stomach is normal. Dyspepsia or indigestion is a common term for a variety of eating and digestive disorders. It may be caused by incorrect diet, peptic ulcer,or stress, and accompanied by nausea or vomiting. | |
