Food bank. Volunteers from St. Christopher Catholic Parish distributing produce provided by the Borderlands Food Bank, which holds fresh produce diverted from landfills. Each year, the non-profit organisation Borderlands takes in 30 to 40 million pounds of produce, mostly grown in Mexico, that would otherwise be discarded. The produce is usable but may have blemishes, or a grower may have more than can be sold. The Food Bank distributes the produce to individuals and non-profits in Arizona and throughout parts of the U.S. and Mexico. Photographed in Nogales, Arizona, USA.
