Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko from Rosetta. This comet is around 3.5 by 4 kilometres. The European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft was launched in March 2004 on a 10 year mission to reach this comet. It entered orbit on 6 August 2014 at a point in the comet's orbit beyond the orbit of Mars. On the 30th September 2016 the mission will come to an end when the spacecraft makes a controlled impact on the comet. The first mission designed to land on a comet,Rosetta is carrying instruments and a lander to map and study the comet's surface and core. Image obtained on 27 July 2016 from 8.3 kilometres from the comet's nucleus by Rosetta's OSIRIS narrow-angle camera (NAC)
