Rhinoceros tail. The tail bristles (on the end of the tail) are the only hair on a rhino, other than on the ears. Some rhinos use their tails to spread their faeces to mark their territory. All rhinos have poor eyesight, but excellent senses of hearing and smell. This makes it possible to approach a rhino in silence from downwind. However,it will charge at anything that appears threatening, reaching speeds of over 50 kilometres an hour despite weighing several tonnes. Rhinos are herbivores, and are found in savannah and woodlands in Asia and Africa. They are all endangered due to being hunted for the horns found on their heads | |
