| MODEL RELEASED. Angioplasty being used to re-open diseased arteries supplying the patient's calf & foot,to ease severe pain & salvage the leg. A thin balloon catheter is passed through a small incision in the groin & directed towards the obstructed artery using real-time digital imaging. Once in position,the balloon is carefully inflated so as to compress the obstructing plaque & restore blood flow. Appropriate drugs may be given at the same time.
