Anemometer,a device for measuring the speed of the wind. The simplest type of anemometer is the cup anemometer that consists three cups each attached to the central vertical shaft with a horizontal arm. The angular velocity of caps' rotation is proportional to the wind speed. Such anemometer construction was developed in 1926 but still remains to be widely used for the wind speed measurements
