The British Cooper Car Company was founded in December 1947 by Charles Cooper and his son John Cooper. The company produced single-seater racing cars in the 1950s and 1960's and won two Formula 1 Drivers Championships and two Formula 1 Constructors Championships. Cooper were the first manufacturer to produce a rear-engined Formula 1 vehicle,which won the 1959 and 1960 Formula 1 world championships. The championship winning cars were driven by Sir Jack Brabham.
