A mating pair of Red-eyed Tree Frogs,Agalychnis callidryas,in amplexus,Costa Rica. This species is also known as Red-eyed Leaf Frog and Gaudy Leaf Frog. The arboreal frog descends to breeding pools during the mating season. Males find females and grasp on to them in amplexus so that the male can fertilize the female's eggs as they are laid onto the underside of leaf.
