Black-faced vervet monkey (Cercopithecus aethiops) holding its young. This monkey is found in savannah and scrubland,near forest edges and running water,throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It usually lives in groups of about 20 individuals,but much larger groups have also been seen. Its diet is mainly vegetarian,consisting of flowers,shoots,seeds and fruits,but it will also eat insects,eggs and baby birds. Photographed in the Kruger National Park,South Africa | |
