Crowned lemur. Close-up of the head of a crowned lemur (Eulemur coronatus). Crowned lemurs are endemic to the northern forests of Madagascar. Their bodies can reach lengths of 35 centimetres,with a tail that can grow to 45 centimetres. The crowned lemur is a social animal living in matriarchal groups of between 5 and 15 individuals.
