Dust mite. Coloured Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of a dust mite Dermatophagoides sp.,in a sample of household dust. It is crawling among hair, fibres and other dust debris. This mite is a cause of dermatitis (skin inflammation) and is implicated as a cause of asthma.
