Every house contains millions of such creatures,living in the carpets and furniture and feeding on the flakes of skin shed by their human landlords. It has been estimated that the average double bed contains about two million dust mites. The mite's body is in three parts: the gnathosoma (head region,left),the propodosma (carrying the 1st & 2nd pair of walking legs) and the hysterosoma (locating the 3rd & 4th pairs of legs).
