| Hemispherium. Guisborough Priory,North Yorkshire,England,as it would have looked in the 12th-14th centuries,seen in the virtual reality Hemisphe- rium. This is the finest immersive virtual reality facility in the world. The screen is a six metre wide dome,mounted vertically,giving an authentic 180 degree field of view in both horizontal and vertical planes. Seven projectors provide real- time computer graphics. The "pilot" (lower left) controls the view using a joystick. As well as virtual tourism such as this,the facility can also be used for pilot training and building design.
