BioWall display of artificial life. This is the "Ants" experiment, where the state of the square segments on the wall is determined by the random movements of virtual 'ants'. The 'ants' are created and destroyed by the observers as they touch the screen. Such systems are intended to help develop bio-inspired electronic tissues, capable of evolving,self-repairing,learning and self-replicating. The BioWall was developed in 2000 at the Logic Systems Laboratory (LSL) in Lausanne,Switzerland. This display is part of the L'Objet vivant exhibition at the Villa Reuge,in St. Croix,Switzerland, which opened in February 2002 | |
