Eleven week old foetus. Side view of a human foetus,11 weeks old. At this stage of development the face has become more human: lips, eyelids, and external ears have formed. Fingers are visible on the hands, toes on the feet, although there is little subcutaneous fat on the limbs or face. The umbilical cord is at lower right. At this age,the crown-rump length (sitting height) of the foetus is about 7cm and its weight is around 35g. The large head constitutes almost one half of the crown-rump length. Foetal movements begin at this time but are usually not felt by the mother. The male sex of the foetus can be determined | |
