The nasal cavity appears dark,and the tongue is seen in the mouth. Inside the skull the cerebrum of the brain appears highly folded (at top); this part of the brain is involved in conscious and intelligent thought. At the level of the ear is the smaller triangular cerebellum which maintains body posture,balance,and coordinates movement.
