MODEL RELEASED. Anaethetist during surgery. The patient lies on the bed at lower left,with their head on the pillow. During the surgery,a general anaesthetic keeps the patient unconscious,and so prevents pain and discomfort during the operation. The general anaesthetic is usually inhaled through a face mask. Once anaesthetised,the patient is unable to breathe unaided. The tube (pink) is providing air for the patient,as well as being used to maintain the state of anaesthesia.
