Torn head of biceps. An abnormal lump in the upper arm of a 50-year-old man caused by tearing of one of the heads of the biceps. The biceps muscle has two heads that attach the muscle to the bones of the shoulder. Rupture of one of the heads may occur in trauma or rheumatoid arthritis, and is a risk after a local steroid injection. The condition causes minimal disability as the remaining head can perform most of the muscle's tasks | |
