Psoriasis occurs when new skin cells are produced at a rate ten times faster than normal. The skin may become itchy and joint stiffness may result. Sites of the body commonly affected include the forearms,back,scalp and the legs. The cause of psoriasis is unknown. It often runs in families and can be brought on by stress and anxiety. The symptoms of the condition can be relieved with corticosteroid drugs
