This disease,a malignant tumour of the breast tissue,is the commonest form of cancer in women. It begins as a small lump in the breast but may spread to invade the lymph nodes,bones,lungs and liver. When the cancer has not spread,treatment involves removal of the tumour or the affected breast,often accompanied by radiotherapy. If the cancer has spread,as seen here,chemotherapy and hormone therapy are used
