Brunelleschi rediscovered the principles of linear perspective which were used by the Greeks and Romans. He used these to create an architectural style based on mathematics and proportion. His most famous work is the dome of the cathedral of Florence,Italy. This dome,known as the Duomo,was built with the aid of machines designed by Brunelleschi.
