The hair is abnormally thick and has an internal honeycomb structure,filled with air pockets,making it an excellent insulating material for both sheep and man. The surface of the hair is rough and scaly,like those of most mammals. The sheep has two types of hair; thick insulating hairs like this and thin,solid (normal) hairs.
