'Le Tricolore' balloon rescue. 19th-century illustration of English fishermen rescuing the French balloonist Jules Durouf (1841-1898) and his wife Caroline Durouf (1845-1933) from their balloon 'Le Tricolore',after it ditched in the North Sea off the coast of England on 1 September 1874. After the rescue,the balloon was carried away by winds and was eventually recovered in the Skagerrak strait between Denmark,Norway and Sweden.
