Bursitis is inflammation of the bursa (centre),a fluid-filled pad that lubricates regions where muscles and tendons slide over bone. Bursitis is caused by repetitive movement,trauma or prolonged and excessive pressure on the bursa. Treatment is with rest and anti-inflammatory drugs. In severe cases the bursa may need to be drained
