Each virus particle (black) consists of outer hairs,or fibrils,and a protein capsid enclosing a core of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid),the virus' genetic material. APMV's classification as a pathogen is tentative,but it is now thought that it may cause viral pneumonia. Magnification: x50,000 when printed 10 centimetres wide
