Quiver tree (Aloe dichotoma). This tree is eaten by Kudu antelopes as it acts as a repellant to parasites when absorbed into the animals' bloodstream. The quiver tree takes its name from the bushmen's custom of hollowing out its branches to use as quivers for carrying their arrows. Photographed at Gariganus farm,Namibia,Africa | |
