A spore is a small,usually single-celled reproductive structure that,upon germination,can develop into a new individual,such as a fungus. A germinating spore produces a slender,thread-like filament (hypha). The hypha requires nutrients and releases enzymes to breakdown nearby substrates. Once many hyphae have absorbed enough nutrients,they will grow into a mycelium,the vegetative part of a fungus
